ONVIF Profiles Supported
ONVIF profiles define specific features that cameras and NVRs can use together. All Viewtron IP cameras support multiple ONVIF profiles for maximum compatibility with third-party systems.
Profile Definitions
- ONVIF Profile S (Streaming) - Live video streaming, PTZ control, audio streaming. Required for basic camera viewing.
- ONVIF Profile G (Recording) - Video storage and replay. Required for NVR recording and playback.
- ONVIF Profile T (Advanced Streaming) - H.265/HEVC compression, imaging controls, motion region configuration. Enables bandwidth-efficient 4K streaming.
- ONVIF Profile M (Metadata) - Analytics events and metadata streaming. Enables AI event notifications to third-party systems.
Viewtron IP Camera ONVIF Support
Note: AI features (human detection, vehicle detection, face detection) run on the camera regardless of ONVIF profile. Profile M enables AI event notifications to third-party NVRs. For full AI integration including detection zones and smart search, use a Viewtron NVR.
Viewtron NVR ONVIF Support
Viewtron NVRs are ONVIF compliant. They work with third-party ONVIF cameras. The latest Viewtron NVRs now support ONVIF profiles S, G, T, and M.

Viewtron AI security cameras feature built-in human detection and vehicle detection. The AI software runs on the camera and sends intelligent alerts only when people or vehicles are detected, eliminating false alarms from animals, shadows, and weather.
