Most cable and DSL Internet connections use a dynamic IP address. This can present a challenge for remotely accessing your DVR to check on your cameras. All iDVR-PRO surveillance DVRs have built in dynamic DNS support. This means that your DVR will be assigned a host name such as mydvr.ddns.com for you to use for remote access. So, if your ISP changes your IP address, the configuration for your desktop and mobile apps do not need to change because your assigned hostname will always be updated to point to the correct IP address of your Internet gateway.
DDNS setup is simple on iDVR-PRO recorders and if you need a hand, CCTV Camera Pros gives lifetime free technical support on the products that we supply.
