WIFI-NAN5 is a long range outdoor wireless security camera transmitter antenna. The WIFI-NAN5 is a single antenna that can be configured as a transmitter (bridge mode) for a point-to-point or point-to-multipoint wireless network. It can also be configured as a receiver antenna (WIFI access point mode) for a point-to-point wireless bridge. This wireless transmitter uses 5 GHz wireless antenna. CCTV Camera Pros has used this product in hundreds of custom wireless camera systems that we have designed.
A single IP camera can be connected directly to the LAN network port of the transmitter. Video from multiple IP cameras can be transmitted using a single WIFI-NAN5 by connecting all of the IP camera to a network switch. The uplink port of the switch is connected to the LAN network port of the WIFI-NAN5. When the WIFI-NAN5 is used as a receiver / access point, it is typically connected to a router or network switch.
This wireless camera transmitter is completely weatherproof for outdoor use and capable of transmitting 150+ MBPS up to 8 miles / 15 kilometers with direct line of sight between the transmitter and receiver. This WIFI transmitter enables a single or multiple IP cameras to record to a central DVR / NVR in a separate building without expensive dredging to lay cables. The main purpose of the transmitter / receiver is to provide a cost effective solution for remote and hard-to-reach camera locations where dredging or trenching cable is not cost feasible or even possible.
Please note that the WIFI-NAN5 is a single transmitter / receiver. It must be used with an additional WIFI-NAN5 in order to create a wireless network bridge. A pair of WIFI-NAN5s are available in the WIFI-EH9500 wireless camera system.

Wireless Camera Transmitter (Rear View)
This is the back of the WIFI-NAN5. The LED status lights help the installer identify the connection status of the antenna. The mounting brackets are designed for pole mount.. The port cover release enables access to the network ports.
This is the bottom of the antenna with the port cover removed. There is a main and secondary Ethernet port.
Only the main port is used for wireless security camera installations. There is also a reset button to factory reset the device.
Here is the WIFI-NAN5 being used as part of a complete outdoor wireless security camera system. This is how it works.
- The main Ethernet port on the WIFI-NAN5 is connected to the power over Ethernet port of the PoE injector. This is the PoE injector that is included with it. CAT-5 or CAT-6 network cable is used for this.
- The 2 outdoor bullet IP cameras connected to a POE-SW54 4 port PoE switch using CAT-5 cable.
- The LAN port on the antenna's PoE injector is connected to the uplink port on the POE-SW54 network switch.
Weatherproof NEMA Power Box
Most of the outdoor wireless systems that we design at CCTV Camera Pros include one or more of these
NEMA weatherproof power boxes. They are perfect to house the PoE switch for multiple IP cameras and the PoE injector for the wireless antenna. These boxes are hard wired to a 120V power source. There are two standard power outlets in the unit. There is velcro on the back wall and self adhesive velcro strips are included that can be attached to the network switch and PoE injector.
Wireless Transmitter Installation
The WIFI-NAN5 transmitter / receiver comes standard with pole mounts / straps that are most commonly used with this
WIFI-B107 J-Pipe pole mount & bracket.
This installation example shows how multiple WIFI-NAN5 transmitters can be used with a
WIFI-MR5 wireless receiver and WIFI-OMNI5 360 degree directional antenna to create a point to multi-point wireless network. This type of network enables IP cameras installed at multiple buildings to record on a centralized DVR / NVR.
This installation example shows how 2 WIFI-NAN5 antennas can be used to create a point to point wireless network. The WIFI-NAN5 on the left is configured as a wireless transmitter, and the one on the right is configured as a wireless receiver. This type of network enables security cameras at one remote building to communicate with a DVR / NVR at a separate building.
Although no cameras are pictured in the building on the right, please note that the building with the DVR can also have security cameras installed and recording to the DVR. The cameras on the building with the DVR would be hard wired to the same network switch or router as the NVR / DVR.
Wireless Transmitter Mount Options
Although it is not nearly as common as the
outdoor pole mount installation, the WIFI-NAN5 can also be mounted on the inside of a window.
