The Vivotek-FD8161 Megapixel Dome IP Camera is capable of recording at 30 frames per second in 1280 x 720 resolution or at 15 frames per second in 1600 x 1200 resolution. The Vivotek-FD8161 Megapixel Dome IP Camera features a 2 Megapixel CMOS image sensor and a 3 - 9mm Varifocal lens.

The H.264 video compression allows for much smaller file sizes and helps to free up bandwidth. It also features the ability to run multiple video streams of different video compressions to meet the needs of different platforms and bandwidth constraints.

The Removable IR Cut Filter and infrared illuminators with an effective range of 15 meters / 49 feet provide excellent clarity 24 hours a day. The Vivotek-FD8161 has a PIR motion detector to pick up objects by their thermal characteristics and trigger alarms, providing a much higher sense of security. A few more features include POE 802.3af, SD / SDHC card slot for local recording and a built-in microphone for audio surveillance applications. The Vivotek-FD8161 can be remotely accessed by a web browser on a PC or 3GPP mobile devices.

The Vivotek-FD8161 includes a 32 channel central management software and is also fully compatible with NUUO IP Camera Software for users who want to get the most out of their cameras.
