This high definition outdoor IR bullet camera is designed to provide a complete overview shot of small to medium-sized rooms. Please check out these
sample HD surveillance images taken using this camera. The 90-degree wide angle of view produced by the 3.6mm lens makes this camera an ideal option to mount in the corner of a room.
An IP66 weatherproof rated enclosure protects the key components of the 5MP-BL5 from harsh weather, dust, and humidity and allows it to be used in either indoor or outdoor applications. A tri-axis bracket allows this camera to be ceiling or wall mounted and the lens can be pointed in any direction.
The 5MP-BL5 is a BNC analog surveillance camera type meaning that it is hard-wired to a security DVR using
RG59 Siamese coaxial cable or pre-made BNC security camera cable. This is the same type of cable that is used to install standard definition CCTV analog cameras.
If you do not need to record video and would like to
connect this security camera directly to an HDMI TV for live viewing only, please check out this BNC to HDMI converter or this 4 channel HD CCTV multiplexer.

iPhone App Remote Camera View
During the research and development process, we connected our 5MP-BL5 to an
iDVR-PRO AHD Hybrid DVR. In addition to being an excellent recording platform, the iDVR-PRO allows users to log in over the Internet to remote view their security cameras from iPhone.
Android Mobile App Remote Camera View
These images were captured while using the
iDVR-PRO mobile camera viewer app for Android. The camera is connected to the iDVR-PRO at our office and we are accessing the DVR using WIFI on our demo network. This works the same as viewing the camera remotely over the Internet.
In addition to the remote viewing capability from iPhone and Android, users can also view their camera using Windows and Mac desktop software. You can learn about all of the
remote camera viewing apps and software here.
Installers can select the video mode with ease using the small joystick that is built-in to the camera's video cable. Please note that in order to navigate the OSD (On Screen Display) menu of the camera using this joystick, the camera must be connected to a monitor. Most installers use one of our
HD compliant test monitors to adjust the video setting. If you do not have a test monitor, CCTV Camera Pros can set the video output to the setting that you require. The default video setting of this camera is 5 megapixel AHD.
Here is a close-up view of the joystick.
How-to Change Video Output
To change the video output mode of the 5MP-BL5, press straight down on the joystick and the main menu will display. Then navigate to the Video Output menu and press straight down on the joystick again (as seen above).
Using the joystick's left and right selector, toggle between the HD modes and Video Standard until the desired mode is selected. Once the desired mode is selected, go to Return and press straight down to exit. Finally, back on the main menu, press straight down on the Save-Exit menu to finalize the video mode settings.
