The HD-BX7-5 is a box HD-SDI security camera that includes a 2 megapixel 5-50mm varifocal lens and is capable of capturing full HD video surveillance at 1080p resolution (1920 x 1080). HD-SDI cameras are also known as HD security cameras in the world of CCTV. This technology enables installers to use the same RG59 or RG6 coax cable that is used in traditional CCTV systems, except HD-SDI cameras are able to capture over 6 times the resolution of regular CCTV.

This camera performs extremely well in low light. The SENS-Up function that is built into the camera can also be adjusted using the on screen display to enhance the night image.
The 1/2.9 inch Sony CMOS image sensor and progressive scan system enable this camera to capture high definition video at 1080p or 720p resolutions. This camera a 5-50mm varifocal / auto-iris lens which which allow the installer to adjust the cameras angle of view between 58 and 6.5 degrees horizontal or 66 and 7.4 degrees diagonal. Click here to

Outdoor Image 5mm Lens Setting
The following snapshot was taken using an HD-BX7-5 in the back of our warehouse. The 2 megapixel lens on the HD-BX5 is adjusted to the widest angle (5mm). The dumpster in the distance is 100 feet away. Mike is standing about 12 feet away from the camera.
Outdoor Image 50mm Lens Setting
The camera was mounted in the same spot for this snapshot as the one above. The difference is that the varifocal lens is adjusted almost to the most zoomed in position (slightly less than 50mm). The letters on the dumpster sign can easily be recognized from 100 feet away when the lens is adjusted in this way.

BNC Video Connections and OSD Controls
The above image shows the back of the HD-BX7 camera. This camera is dual voltage, so the power screw terminals can be connected to a 12V DC or 24V AC power supply. The RS-485 connections allow you to connect a cable pair to control the OSD (on screen display) from a DVR or keyboard controller. The other way to access and control the OSD is using the joystick (up / down/ left / right) controls. The red LED indicates if the camera is powered on. The BNC output labeled CVBS is an analog CCTV video output that can be used to connect this camera to a
CCTV test monitor when installing and focusing the camera. Last, the gold plated BNC output is the HD-SDI video output that can be connected to an HD-SDI DVR capable of 720p or 1080p video resolution.
