The PRO-PLK40 is a power line Ethernet network adapter kit (sometimes referred to as power-link adapters) that enables Ethernet connectivity from an IP camera to a router or switch. In addition to network IP cameras, the PRO-PLK40 can be used with any network device. To setup, users simply connect one of the adapters to a network switch or router and the other adapter to an IP camera. The two adapters must be plugged into a power outlet that is on the same circuit breaker. No new wires are required. Users can use existing electrical wiring.

Users can add another PLK40 kit to add two additional devices to their network. For example, the first kit is used to connect one device to a router. When a user adds a second powerline kit, both adapters can be used for additional IP cameras or other devices to the same network. It is not necessary to have additional receiving units connected to the router.
