License Plate Recognition Camera Wiegand Access Control
The
Viewtron LPR-IP4 license plate recognition camera supports Wiegand protocol for integrations with access control and gate systems. You can associate a license plate with an access control card ID. This is how it works.
Wiegand Wiring
The LPR-IP4 camera has terminal block connected to it for the Wiegand output. It uses the standard Wiegard D0, D1 and Ground. You can use 18 gauge shielded cable to connect the LPR camera to your access control system.
Map License Plate to Access Card ID
You can create a license plate database directly on the Viewtron LPR camera. This is where you will map license plates to access control ID cards. After you login to the LPR camera on your web browser, click on the License Plate Detection link under the Event section.
On the License Plate Detection screen, click on the Add button. This will bring up all of the available fields to make a license plate database entry. Enter the license plate number. In the Parking Card Number field, enter the access control card ID that you want to associate this license plate with.
Please note that the first 3 digits are the facility code and digits 4 through 8 are the access control card ID. For example, if you want to associate the license plate that you are adding with facility code 1 and card ID 12345, you would enter 00112345 into the Parking Card Number field. If you want to associate the plate with facility 123 and card ID 98765, you would enter 12398765 into the Parking Card Number field. You can also specify the owner name, phone number, start time, end time, and plate type. Click on the Save button when you are done.
Now whenever a license plate is recognized by the camera, it will send the facility code and card ID to the access control system via the Wiegard interface. This allows you to use license plates as part of your access control system.
