iDVR-PRO Surveillance DVR Network Setup / Port Forwarding

iDVR Pro Surveillance DVR

The iDVR-PRO CCTV / HD camera surveillance DVRs support remote access through multiple devices such as PC, Mac, iPhone / iPad, Android and Blackberry mobile devices. To access the iDVR-PRO remotely, users must setup port forwarding in their router. The instructions below explain how this is done.

Network Setup / Port Forwarding Instructions

1.) Plug the DVR into your router with a CAT-5 jumper cable

2.) In the DVR System Menu click the Network Sub-Menu

3.) On the network menu, make sure the DHCP and Web Service radio boxes are checked.

4.) Now press the "APPLY" Button to apply and save the settings. Once the settings are saved go ahead and write the IP address down for reference you will need this later.

Please click the Brand Router you have below for Port Forwarding setup instructions.[This portion will be done via a computer]

For routers not listed please refer http://portforward.com/

5.) Now make sure the port is open with the following port check tool
http://dvrport.net

Check and make sure both 8080 and 554 are open.

NOTE: If the port is open you will use the Remote IP Address you get from the
http://dvrport.net. However you will need to type it in as follows via web browser http://ipaddress:http port number, eg. if your ip address is 74.96.36.98 than it should look like this when you type it into your web browser http://ipaddress:http

If the ports are showing closed and you have DSL provider you will need to call your provider and have them bridge the modem to your 3rd party router. This is a standard process.
