The Vivotek IP8131 is a compact infrared cube camera that records at 30 frames per second in 1280 x 800 (1 Megapixel) video resolution. The Vivotek IP8131 compact infrared cube camera features a 3.6mm fixed lens and a 1 megapixel, 1/4" progressive CMOS image sensor.

For low light environments the IP8131 has infrared illuminators with an effective range of up to 6 meters / 18 feet to provide an ultra low lux rating of 0.001, this enables the camera to record around the clock. The Removable IR Cut Filter enhances the low light image quality by blocking the infrared lighting and only allowing the visible light to pass through.

This camera records in the H.264 video compression format which dramatically reduces the file storage space and helps to conserve bandwidth. This camera also features a built-in microphone with an effective range of 5 meters / 15 feet to further enhance the level of security. A built-in Micro SD / SDHC / SDXC Card Slot allows the user to record video clips and snapshots locally.
