Description

The Geovision GV-VS2401 is a 4 channel IP video encoder / video server for analog CCTV, AHD, and HD-TVI security cameras. This video server allows installers to use analog CCTV and HD-over-Coax security cameras with network IP camera systems. By digitizing the analog video signals, coax cameras appear on the network, just like an IP camera. This allows them to easily be added to an NVR for recording.

The GV-VS2401 supports IP video encoding for for up to 4 cameras at 3MP, 5MP, 1080p / 720p or analog 960H / D1 resolution. It can be fully integrated with GeoVision GV‐DVR / NVR / VMS software to form the most powerful IP surveillance solution. The video server converts analog signals into high‐resolution digitized images of up to 5 megapixels and supports over 50 PTZ models to fulfill various project demands. GV‐VS2401 can record videos to a local USB storage, performing as a compact video recorder. It is also able to trigger Tampering Alarm alerts when the cameras are tampered with, which can be used to prevent criminal activities.

Network Video Server Installation Options

Below are two typical installation options for users that want to use the GV-VS2401as an add-on device to enable remote camera viewing with a legacy surveillance DVR that does not support it.

Option #1: If your DVR has video loop outputs, which means that for each BNC video input on your DVR, there is also a BNC output, the below installation option is for you.

IP Video Server Setup using DVR Video Loop Output

Option #2: If your DVR does not have video loop outputs, you can use an AHD-VD104 2 to 4 channel BNC AHD video splitter to share the video signals from up to 2 cameras between the GV-VS2401 server and your surveillance DVR.

Network Video Server Setup using BNC Video Splitter

Note: In both of the above examples, GV-VS2401 must also be connected to your network router or switch using CAT-5 cable, in order for remote Internet camera viewing to work.
