The Geovision GV-2004 DVR Card is based on MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 hardware compression technologies. This new generation of hardware compression card is designed to meet high profile security system demands. The GV-2004 and GV-2008 utilize MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 hardware compressions to free more CPU capacity from intensive compression operations / tasks. Compared with Geovision Combo Cards such as the GV-800 where videos are compressed with software compressions such as Geo MPEG-4, Geo MPEG-4 ASP, Geo H264 and Geo H264 V2, the GV-2004 provides an alternative for hardware compression. The GV-2004 both support multiple video and audio input ports, TV output, real-time display, and D1 quality video resolution. The GV-2004 and GV-2008 is that they are stackable, which means that you can put 2 cards into one PC.

Geovision software supports remote Internet viewing from Windows computers, MAC computers, iPhone, and Blackberry mobile phones. Geovision provides a free iPhone app that allows users to view and control their security cameras from the Apple iPhone. All Geovision DVR cards can be used in conjunction with Geovision IP camera software to create a hybrid surveillance system consisting of both CCTV cameras and network IP cameras.
