The HCPRO-SD380 smoke detector security camera is an excellent choice for indoor covert surveillance. The color Sony CCD camera is completely concealed in the smoke detector housing. A very small cone lens peeks out of the side of the smoke detector plastic housing and is virtually undetectable. This security camera easily mounts to ceiling tiles and other ceiling materials. The camera support 540 TV lines of resolution in color and has a 3.7mm lens for an approximate 86 degree field of view. The SD380 features a digital day and night mode which means that when the light level in the room goes below a certain level, the camera goes into black and white mode and is capable of capturing video at very low light levels (0.1 Lux). A DC power supply is included with this camera.

The below sample image was taken using a HCPRO-SD380 camera and a NUUO DVR. The video was recorded, played back, and the still image was exported from the recorded video. The smoke detector camera was mounted in the corner of one of the offices at CCTV Camera Pros headquarters in Palm Beach Florida. You can see that the camera is able to get a compete view of a room that is 12 x 10 when mounted in the corner of the room to ceiling tiles.
On Screen Display
The SD380 camera includes an on screen display menu which allows the installer to access the software built into the camera to adjust advanced settings built into the processor of the camera. Settings such as night mode and specific color adjustments can be controlled from the OSD. The installer simply pushes the small button / joystick noted above to access menu and adjust settings.
