The Vivotek-SD8161 Indoor Network Speed Dome Camera is capable of recording at 30 frames per second in 1920 x 1080 video resolution. The Vivotek-SD8161 Indoor Network Speed Dome Camera features an 18x optical zoom lens and a 1/3" progressive CMOS image sensor.

For environments with challenging lighting conditions, this camera uses WDR Enhancement, which works by combining the darkest part of the image with the brightest part to create one highly detailed image. WDR Enhancement is especially useful in environments with overly bright or dark backlighting. Further enhancing the image quality is the Removable IR Cut Filter, which blocks unusable infrared lighting and only allows the visible light to pass through.

The Vivotek-SD8161 has the new 3D Digital Noise Reduction technology to eliminate environmental noise and provide a clear nighttime image. A sophisticated pan/tilt mechanism allows the SD8161 to quickly and precisely pan a full 360° and tilt up to 220°. The Auto Tracking feature allows the camera to follow moving objects in order to maintain constant surveillance while the object is in the range of the camera's view.

The Micro SD / SDHC / SDXC card slot lets the user record snapshots and video clips locally. A few more features offered by the SD8161 are two-way audio support, 3GPP mobile device access and Digital I/O for external alarms and sensors. This camera can be powered by either 12V-DC, 24V-AC or POE 802.3AT, allowing for both data and power to be run over one Cat-5e cable.
