Geovision Surveillance DVR Remote Access Mac

The Geovision Surveillance DVR's have the ability to be remotely accessed through the Safari web browser of a Mac computer. At this time Mac users are only able to view live video data of their Geovision Surveillance DVR.

















Remote Access Mac


The instructions below explain how to access a Geovision Surveillance DVR remotely using a Mac computer. Mac OS X 10.5 and above.


1. Make sure the GV-System is up and running. On the main screen, click the Network button, then click WebCam Server. Now click the 3GPP tab and then select the option box to enable it. (Shown Below)



2. In the router attached to the Geovision Surveillance DVR, you will have to ensure the following ports are open:

TCP Port 8554
UDP Port 17300-17380
Command Port 4550
Data Port 5550
Audio Port 6550

3. Once the router is configured correctly, go to the Mac computer you wish to use. Go to System Preferences and open the Quick Time preference panel. (Shown Below)



4. Now click the Advanced tab and select Custom from the Transport Setup drop-down list. (Shown Below)



5. Select UDP from the Transport Protocol drop-down list.

6. In the RTSP Port ID field, select Other and type 6970. Then click OK. (Shown Below)



7. Now launch a Safari web browser. Enter the Remote IP Address of the Geovision Surveillance DVR and type in the ID and Password to log in.

8. Click the camera you wish to view and you should see it displayed live. (Shown Below)
