iDVR-PRO Surveillance DVR PTZ Setup

The iDVR-PRO8 and iDVR-PRO16 CCTV surveillance DVRs are compatible with PTZ cameras. Users can control their PTZ through the iDVR-PRO interface as well as set tours to automate the PTZ process.


PTZ Setup Instructions

To setup a PTZ camera on your iDVR-PRO please follow the instructions below.

1. First make sure the PTZ in properly connected to the RS-485 ports on the back of the DVR.



2. Click on the Menu icon, then go into System Setup and finally the Camera menu.







3. Once in the Camera menu go down to the PTZ Setup tab. In this menu you will enter your PTZ cameras Address, Protocol and Baud Rate (Usually found in the PTZ user manual) by using the selection arrows. Then hit Apply.

ADDRESS: The unique ID of the PTZ device.
PROTOCOL: The protocol of the PTZ device.
BAUD RATE: The baud rate of the PTZ device.



4. Now click the Detail button next to the channel of your PTZ. In this menu you are able to fine tune your PTZ to achieve a desired image quality. Note: Some settings such as Auto Focus may not be compatible with all PTZ cameras.





5. To setup a automated tour, click on the Tour button. In this menu you will set the Dwell Time and Preset Number for each camera. Note: Dwell Time is how long a camera stays in position before moving to the next preset position.





6. Now you can control your PTZ camera using the live PTZ Control menu. First exit to the live screen, then click on the PTZ icon, you will see the menu below. Here you will be able to choose the Preset (How the PTZ starts and stops), control the PTZ using the arrows as well as the zoom using the + and - buttons next to Zoom.





7. To adjust the Parameter, simply click on the Parameter button on the live PTZ menu. In this menu users are able to adjust the pan, tilt and zoom speeds as well as turn on Auto Iris and Auto Focus.
